President Donald Trump was catapulted into office on the pledge to crack down on illegal immigration.  As of 2017, FAIR estimates the number of illegal aliens in the US to be approximately 12.5 million; however, estimating the size and characteristics of the illegal alien population is an inexact science.

Anyone claiming to have calculated a definitive number should be looked upon skeptically, as there is no central database of illegal aliens.  Additionally, the Department of Homeland Security only counts those who enter and leave in a lawful manner. Those who evade immigration authorities or sneak across the border are not counted.

Since 2016, some 110,000 children have entered the U.S. illegally and been released, along with 200,000 Central American families caught sneaking across the border.  Since the dramatic surge of border crossings in 2013, the federal government has placed more than 180,000 unaccompanied minors with parents or other adult sponsors who are expected to care for the children and help them attend school while they seek legal status in immigration court.

As to why a solution can’t be found, members of both parties favor open borders — Democrats want votes and Republicans want cheap labor — but Democrats and the media are doing what they always do, driving emotions rather than rational thought. Thus the immigration war has reached a frenzied peak in media hype.  Breitbart provides nine examples where MS-13 gang members — the murderous El Salvadorian gang that Democrats defended last month — used these immigration loopholes to try to enter the U.S. in hopes they would eventually be released.

The lies have also never been greater, as when the story broke about the detained immigrant minors. The leftist media blamed Trump, neglecting to mention the incident happened during the Obama years

Every liberal media outlet and personality is being used.  A slew of Hollywood celebrities took to Twitter to criticize President Donald Trump after he ended the policy of separating illegal immigrant adults from minors apprehended at the southern border, including actor Tom Arnold.  The result has been escalating violence and intimidation against anyone who would stop the sacred right of foreigners to ignore our laws and our borders.

Additionally, Sarah Sanders gets kicked out of a restaurant. A group of protesters gathered outside Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen’s Virginia townhouse chanting “no justice, no sleep” and blaring audio of immigrant children crying.  Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi was harassed when she attempted to attend a screening of the Mister Rogers movie, Won’t You Be My Neighbor.

California Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters is creating a dangerous situation when calling for total social warfare against the entire Trump administration.  She cheered on those who have attacked or rebuffed them at restaurants and their homes and said at the speech, “Let’s stay the course, let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up.”

There was a time not that long ago when the United States was a magnet for the best and the brightest.  There was even a term for it.  It was called the Brain Drain.  Inventors, research chemists, nuclear scientists, accomplished writers, composers and musicians, couldn’t wait to leave Europe and Asia for the greater opportunities awaiting them in America.

That was then, this is now.  Somewhere along the way, Congress decided that we had more than enough brains, and that what we needed were steady streams of cheap labor and more potential Democrats.  If either group included terrorists, it didn’t matter very much because the lawmakers were well-protected; at least until a Bernie Sanders supporter decided to shoot up a baseball diamond.

And so we threw open our doors to Castro’s most vicious felons, Haiti’s AIDS-infected victims, Mexico’s unskilled millions of terminally unemployed, and unvetted refugees from the Middle East.

Worst of all, both parties took part in this madness.  The Democrats saw it as a way to inflate their registration rolls, the Republicans saw it as a way to placate their major donors who never want to see the pool of cheap labor dry up.

When questioned about their motives, both parties start yammering about ours being a nation of immigrants and pretending that Emma Goldman’s schmaltzy poem, “The New Colossus” — which has been immortalized simply because some dumb cluck decided it should be attached at the base of the Statue of Liberty — is the final word when it comes to our immigration policy.

When it comes to these foreign trespassers, the derangement syndrome is so wide-spread that even the usually silent Laura Bush, one of only two Texas residents who are protected 24/7 by the Secret Service, felt compelled to announce that separating lawbreakers from their children was breaking her heart.

In order to cut our way through the flapdoodle, we have to acknowledge a few facts.

One, children in America are separated from their parents on an hourly basis, either because their fathers or mothers are headed off to jail or on a military mission.  That’s life, and I don’t believe that Mrs. Bush’s heart breaks each and every time it happens.

Two, it is not Donald Trump or the Border Patrol that makes the decision to risk having family members separated.  It is the parents who decide to either cross the border illegally themselves or to send the kids ahead to ease the way to follow them via chain migration.

Three, as we have now discovered, the adults who accompany the kids aren’t always their parents.  They are nogootniks who use the children as props because they know that the way the law is written, the kids can only be held for 20 days and the authorities are likely to simultaneously release their “parents” into the general population, relying on an empty promise that they’ll return for a court date.

There is a reason, even if such bleeding hearts as Jeff Flake and Susan Collins choose to ignore it, why there has been a 314% spike this year in the number of fraudulent cases of adults entering the country with children they either abducted, purchased or borrowed, who are no more related to the kids than I am.

If I could figure out a way to keep birds from landing on it, my border wall would be an electric fence.  I wouldn’t be hiring more judges to adjudicate cases at the border.  There’s nothing to adjudicate.  If you’d like to come to the United States legally, fine; fill out the paperwork and take your place in line.

I fully understand the desire of poor people in Mexico and Central America to come here.  But I also understand poor people in Africa, Asia and Europe, wanting to do the same.  But I see no reason to treat Latinos better than everyone else simply because they don’t have to cross an ocean to get here.

And I certainly see no good reason to roll out the welcome mat simply because the Democratic politicians want to import voters and Republican business owners want easy access to cheap labor.

If it were up to me, I would treat those trying to sneak into the country the same way I would treat some scumbag trying to sneak into my home.

Congress flunks problem solving

Most people will describe a “problem” in terms of something that needs to be done. That leads to a lot of confusion and generally ineffective solutions. In business and the sciences, a “problem” is best described in terms of some event or observation that should happen but doesn’t or something that happens unexpectedly. Problem solving can only start when you have defined the problem.  It involves a search for the root cause and what can be done to change it.

In politics there is no consensus of the true nature of any problem, only the opportunity to blame the other side for its consequences.  If you do solve a problem, you’d have to invent another one to take its place in the political discourse.

President Trump knows how to identify and solve problems. To the Creatures of the Washington Swamp, that’s tantamount to taking their jobs away, and they’re not having it.

A recent commentary in the Wall Street Journal, “Mueller’s Fruit of the Poisonous Tree”, concluded that it makes no difference how honorable Mueller is, his investigation is tainted by the bias that attended its origin in 2016.

As Roger Kimball wrote on June 19, 2018 about the 568-page IG report, A Comedy of Corruption? Or a Bureaucratic Horror Show?:

If the stakes were not so high, the 568-page report issued last week by the Justice Department Office of the Inspector General (“A Review of Various Actions by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Department of Justice in Advance of the 2016 Election”) might be seen as a species of comedy, something out of Plautus, perhaps (starring Peter Strzok as the Miles Gloriosus and Lisa Page as Philocomasium), or Dickens’s Little Dorrit with its Office of Circumlocution .  Note: The report “did not find documentary or testimonial evidence that improper considerations, including political bias, directly affected the specific investigative decisions we reviewed.

At PJ Media  Andrew Klavan observed, not to have found any evidence of political bias is simply inspector-generalese for, “No one confessed or left a paper trail.”

Kimberly Strassel was also right in her recent column for the Wall Street Journal of June 14, 2018, “Insubordination and Bias at FBI (The inspector general report is careful in its conclusions, but damning on the facts”), when she concluded that the IG report is dripping with evidence of political bias.

Prelutsky Provides Dose of Humor

Burt Prelutsky is a CA tv screenwriter, humor columnist, movie critic, author of eight books, as well as having his own website where he posts six witty political commentaries per week though subscription at  burtprelutsky@icloud.comHere is what Burt Prelutsky had to say about the recently released IG report:

“Although I had looked forward to the Inspector General of the Justice Department, Michael Horowitz, and the Director of the FBI, Christopher Wray, being questioned by a Senate committee, I wound up disappointed, as I so often am by any activity undertaken by Washington bureaucrats.

For my part, Horowitz had already made himself a laughingstock by turning in a nearly 600-page report detailing a two-year campaign of partisan bias conducted by members of the Deep State – a group of traitors that included, but was not limited to James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok and Lisa Page — to prevent Donald Trump from winning the election; and when that failed, resorting to a backup plan to undermine his administration and get him impeached.

But after all that, Horowitz somehow concluded that the plot had nothing to do with partisan bias.  It was as if he were channeling James Comey, who, in 2016, read off a list of federal crimes that Hillary Clinton had committed before concluding that no prosecutor could possibly have grounds for indicting her.

As for Christopher Wray, he could well serve as Central Casting’s idea of the perfect bureaucratic wimp, the sort of person who wakes up every morning thinking how to best spend the day covering his ass.

When questioned about the part the FBI had played in the resistance movement, this federal toady played down the Bureau’s involvement by reminding the committee that only a small number of individuals had been engaged in the traitorous activity.

Fortunately, Sen. Orrin Hatch was there to brush aside the frivolous defense by reminding Wray that the small number happened “to include the Director of the FBI, the Deputy Director of the FBI and the lead investigator of both the Clinton investigation and the Russian collusion investigation.”

But, apparently, we are all supposed to breathe a sigh of relief now that Wray has ordered the 35,000 agents to attend classes that will explain to them why people who carry guns, badges and federal warrants, should try to make every effort to avoid exhibiting partisan bias, at least during working hours.

Best of all, once they complete the program, they’ll be able to find employment selling latte grandes at the local Starbuck.”

Clinton E-mail Fiasco

As to the handling of the Clinton e-mails, the reason FBI Director Comey announced a renewed investigation of the Clinton Emails just days before the election has not been completely explained and probably never will be. The Inspector’s General report described it as a “breach of protocol,” and hubris on Comey’s part for concealing his intentions from the AG Lynch. This is an accurate assessment, but probably not the entire story. In any investigation, one of the first questions asked is “Who stands to benefit?” From this point the Clinton Email investigation twists and turns like the plot of an Agatha Christy novel, only we are still waiting for someone to confess in the penultimate scene, when all of the parties are assembled.

Clinton and the Democrats still claim that the 11th hour news conference cost them the 2016 election. It certainly didn’t help; however, the effect would have been much worse if someone else had leaked the information. There would have been a storm of reports, denials and opinions, dominating the news cycle for two weeks or more. As we know all too well, it’s not the crime, it’s the coverup, stupid!

The IG’s report makes that situation a little clearer. According to this report, the upper echelon of the FBI had a network of serial leakers and still do. The connection between the FBI and mainstream media is that unidentified individuals received emoluments from the media, including tickets to various events, to lubricate this flow of information. The discovery of thousands of emails on Huma Abedin’s computer, through the prosecution of her husband, Anthony Weiner, for sex crimes, occurred in September, a month before Comey’s fateful news release. The District Attorney of New York conveyed this information to the FBI (Peter Strzok). A month is a long time to keep a secret in Washington, and it was increasingly likely that it would be leaked to the press, either out of conscience or hubris.

While Comey’s news conference damaged Clinton’s campaign, far more damage would have occurred had it leaked. The clock was ticking. The thread on Damacles’ sword was starting to fray.

FBI Stonewalls

Trey Gowdy (R-SC), Chairman, House Oversight Committee, not only slammed the FBI based on the IG report, but he also went after the DOJ & FBI for not complying with the Committee request for the documents from Clinton Email investigation.  Gowdy told “Fox News Sunday” that “the full panoply of constitutional weapons available to the people’s house” are on the table, including contempt of Congress. “I don’t want the drama; I want the documents,” Gowdy added.

The FBI and Justice keep digging themselves a deeper hole in the name of a cover up. This only makes it worse as the cat is out of the bag thanks to IG Horowitz damaging report. The notion being circulated about there being no bias is pure hogwash.  Read here the seven key takeaways from bombshell DOJ Watchdog Report into Hillary e-mail probe

Instead of a Trump/Russian investigation, it should have been the expansion of the Clinton server scandal that should have been front and center instead of the focus on Trump; thanks to Strzok’s animus and bias.

The bias and animus exhibited by the high- level FBI lawyers and agents are having their unwanted and unintended consequences of tainting the Mueller investigation, so carefully planned as the insurance policy and the “we will stop him” pledge. The consequence so unwanted and unexpected, places a wet blanket over the Mueller ever widening probe of Trump and related parties. Bias and animus so blinded Strzok and Page, his concubine, they lost their bearings and ignored what they learned in law school, they may have gifted Trump and those caught up in the web of the Russian investigation, by rendering Mueller’s work moot.

Time will tell, but how ironic that the prime advocate for the take down of Trump is in fact, the key player in his liberation from the Russian probe and of those around him, Flynn, Manafort, Papadopoulos, and even Cohen, is none other than Strzok himself?

Oh by the way, where is the evidence? Just asking.

It’s all coming together with the release Thursday of the Inspector’s General Report on the Clinton investigation, A Review of Various Actions by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Department Justice in Advance of the 2016 Election.  Read it for yourself here.

Among other things, it confirms that there is a political wing in the FBI which feels it has the right to act as kingmaker in national elections. From other reports, similar functions exist in the DOJ, the CIA and NSA. If this sounds familiar, look back at the old Soviet Union, which took political action to extreme in the KGB (internal security) and GRU (foreign intelligence), and to a great extent, their current versions under Putin.

The FBI as a political entity is nothing new. J. Edgar Hoover headed the FBI since its inception in 1935, and its predecessor since 1924 – a total of nearly 50 years, ending only in his death in 1972. According to Harry Truman in 1948, ” … [W]e want no Gestapo or secret police. The FBI is tending in that direction. They are dabbling in sex-life scandals and plain blackmail. J. Edgar Hoover would give his right eye to take over, and all congressmen and senators are afraid of him.” Hoover owes his longevity in that capacity precisely because he held “dirt” on nearly all politicians, including Presidents.

It is becoming clear that President Obama weaponized the DOJ and intelligence agencies against his political foes, especially the Republicans once Donald Trump gained the nomination. Eric Holder, AG, took the point at every opportunity to blame police actions on racism, swell as attempts to reform the election system and immigration. His successor, Loretta Lynch, mostly stood back and watched.

The idea that the director of the FBI would have a 10-year term, was to shield the director from influence of the patronage system, while keeping the term short enough to forestall another Hoover-like dynasty. It’s not working out that way. The real dynasty exists in the top-level executives in the layers immediately below the Director.

These are scary times, and our liberty is at risk. According to the Republicans, the IG report confirms their greatest fears, while the Democrats dismiss it as irrelevant. The difference is that Republicans cite page and paragraph, while the Democrats assume their followers will never read beyond the headlines. We can change that once there is time to digest the real content.

By Nancy Thorner and Ed Ingold –

The month of May closed with amazing news on the economy. It looks unstoppable and signals the best recovery since World War II.

Instead of celebrating the incredible economic activity, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi had this to say:

“May’s jobs report shows that strong employment numbers mean little to the families hit with soaring new costs under the Republicans’ watch.”

She added: Republicans’ cruel, cynical health care sabotage campaign is already spiking families’ premiums by double digits and pushing millions off their coverage, according to the nonpartisan CBO.  Big Pharma continues to hoard the benefits of the GOP tax scam, using their handouts to further enrich executives and shareholders instead of lowering prescription drug costs for seniors and sick kids.  At the same time, the President’s reckless policies are exploding gas prices, wiping out the few meager gains that some families should have received from the GOP tax scam, as wages remain stagnant.

Pelosi further claimed: “Democrats will never stop fighting for the hard-working middle-class families who are the backbone of our nation.”

The Atlanta Fed forecasts a big boost in private sector fixed investment, which includes capital investment in machinery, land, buildings, vehicles, and technology. Earlier, the Atlanta Fed saw this growing at 4.6 percent. But following the release Friday of a construction spending report from the U.S. Census Bureau and the Manufacturing ISM Report On Business from the Institute for Supply Management, this was upgraded to 5.4 percent growth.

Unemployment is 3.8%, the third month at 4% or less. Employment participation is at a 20 year high. Black unemployment is 5.9%, down from 6.6%. There are currently more manufacturing jobs (aka high paying) than suitable candidates. In that the GDP was 3.6%, it is now projected to reach 4.7% in the next month or two. This is all the continuation of President Obama’s policies, or is it?

It was on January 1, 2016, that a steel worker union official asked President Barack Obama at a June 1 town hall in Elkhart, Indiana, about job losses at a plant run by Carrier, an air conditioning manufacturer that recently announced plans to move jobs from Indiana to Mexico. He replied that some jobs “are just not going to come back,” while others are in flux or rebounding.

Having made this gloom statement about job growth, by December 6th, 2017 former President Barack Obama was taking credit for the economic growth that was occurring at the time under President Trump, when he told an adoring crowd at a Chicago climate summit that despite “resistance at every step of the way,” his administration’s efforts to fight climate change resulted in a better economy.

“As we took these actions, we saw the U.S. economy grow consistently,” Obama said. “We saw the longest streak of job creation in American history by far — a streak that still continues, by the way.”

He then added a zinger: “Thanks Obama.”

Obama made Trump’s job easy in achieving most of the gains simply by reversing (or erasing) those destructive policies.

  • Re-authorization and completion of at least two major oil pipelines.
  • Reversing restrictions on off-shore oil extraction.
  • Easing restrictions on coal mining and use.
  • Cutting corporate tax rates in half, and encouraging re-patriotization of profits held abroad.
  • Re-negotiating foreign trade agreements toward balanced versions.

Similar improvements have been made by Trump on the international scene, including the following:

  • Obama’s toxic relationship with Russia led to last minute (literally) imposition of sanctions, which Trump delayed as a way to have better leverage when relations with Russia reached various crises.
  • Renewed relationships with our main ally in the Middle-East, Israel, and improved relationships with Egypt and Jordan (snubbed by Obama).
  • Abandonment of the Obama/Kerry agreement-for-the-sake-of-agreement (never ratified) with Iran in favor of increased sanctions.
  • Tough stance on China’s trade imbalance and theft of technology.
  • Staring down North Korea’s reckless threats, bringing Kim Jung-Un to the negotiating table (at Kim’s request).
  • Re-gaining all the territory in Iraq claimed by ISIS and killing most of their leaders and 90% of their followers.

The May jobs report is great news for everyone — except Democrats running for office.  https://www.cnbc.com/2018/06/01/may-jobs-numbers-are-bad-news-for-democrats.ht

  • Voters who are employed are historically more likely to favor incumbents than those who are out of work.
  • With the jobless rate now down to 3.8 percent, Democrats in 435 House districts and 35 Senate races face a major challenge as they try to unseat Republican majorities in both chambers.

The GDP could reach 4.8% in the second quarter of 2018. Unemployment is at 3.8%, the lowest since 1996, and North Korea is at the bargaining table next week. Trump’s approval is at 49%, greater than that of any president since Ronald Reagan (and 5% better than Obama). Yet the Never Trumpers of both parties are working at a fever pitch against him.

Donald Trump’s success in his Presidency is due to a combination of reversing negative policies and innovation using techniques foreign to career bureaucrats. All of this is in the face of unrelenting criticism of every move, word and misspelling, and a deep state bent on his destruction. Under President Trump the term “Red Line” has taken a more literal meaning, and our enemies take notice.

Mistakes are often the best teacher, as they force us to revisit a problem and consider how it can be improved. We examine and rethink what has caused the problem, ultimately enabling us to produce a stronger product. Whether that might be a math problem, a difficult marriage, or a troubled nation, the challenge is to identify potential problems, find the source of the problem, and begin a course to correct all mistakes before they become destructive. When the problem involves a decline of a once exceedingly prosperous nation, the challenge must become a priority and correct as soon as possible.

An example of a problem that could/should have been prevented is the controversial new national education program, Common Core, which was promoted by President Obama and a select committee who developed the program during his presidency. This new education system was launched in spite of an uncommon amount of controversy and concern from parents, teachers, and even experts in various education fields.Highly respected professors and members of the validation committee (Professor R. James Milgram, Dylan William, and Dr. Sandra Stotsky) spoke out about serious problems they saw in Common Core but were ignored by the authors of the new program and the Obama Administration. This prompted the professors to accept invitations from various groups around the country to express their concerns to those who were equally concerned and interested in their objections.

Common Core as Untested Federal Education Program

One specific complaint echoed by a huge number of concerned parents and patriots was that the Obama administration had ignored a long-held American precedent, established by our forefathers, and had been respected for well over a century. The education of America’s children was designated to each individual state and not to the federal government. Why? Our forefathers wisely understood that each state has different cultures, ideals, customs. A one-size education system does not fit all children.

Common Core was an experimental, untested education program introduced at the federal level, without an appropriate number of teachers, school principals, state officials, and parents having an opportunity to examine it. Many Americans found it shocking that an education system was unleashed into most every state, despite the absence of adequate testing first.

None of the warnings or concerns deterred President Obama or those who had heavily invested in this new education program. Since 2009, the Gates Foundation’s primary U.S. activity has focused on establishing and implementing Common Core, a set of centrally mandated curriculum rules and tests for what children are to learn in each K-12 grade, with the results linked to school and teacher ratings and punitive measures for low performers. The Gates Foundation has spent more than $400 million itself and influenced $4 trillion in U.S. taxpayer funds towards this goal. Eight years later, however, Bill Gates is admitting failure on that project, and a “pivot” to another that is not likely to go any better as it will be explicitly tied to Common Core and its cousin, the Next Generation Science Standards (which academic reviewers rate as even more obviously low quality).

American Schools Rank #13 in World

Even though American schools are among the most expensive in the world, American students are mediocre achievers in math, science, and other subjects. In ranking the world’s educational systems, here are the top 5 countries. American schools come in at #14.

South Korea
Japan
Singapore
Hong Kong
Finland

In a 2017 Pew report U.S. students’ academic achievement was shown to fall behind that of their peers in many other countries. In that American schools are among the expensive in the world, why is it that U.S. student5s are among the mediocre achievers in math, science, and other subjects.

Common Core Failed to Meet Its Advertised Promises

It was the decision of the Obama administration that the best way to entice states to buy into the untested Common Core program was to make a deal with each state: the federal government would forgive funds that the state owed them, due to their failure to meet promised goals outlined by George W. Bush’s “No Child Left Behind” program, if they accepted Common Core sight unseen.

Once enacted in school classrooms, more and more parents expressed concern as they became acquainted with Common Core. Finding their concerns politely ignored, parents enrolled their children in private schools, while others discovered home schooling programs to avoid being brainwashed by the progressive Common Core curriculum.

Time revealed those who saw problems with Common were correct. The initial objections raised by professors and parents proved to be valid. Common Core did not meet its advertised promises, nor did it raise national education test scores. Some teachers tried to mix the new program with the old, others found creative ways to help students learn, but Common Core remained unpopular with most who were forced to use it. There is a general agreement, even by Common Core authors, that the new education system did not meet the promised results. Instead it caused parents to distrust our government and caused teachers to work overtime to find ways to overcome the inherent problems associated with teaching the new system.

Powerful Teacher Unions as Impediment to Education

It would be unfair to place the entire blame on Common Core for not improving this nation’s educational system. There is another much greater problem that everyone wants to ignore. It is the powerful Teacher Unions that refuse to fire teachers who have proven to be ineffective. Instead they shift under-performing teachers from school to school, until most finally end up in poverty areas where parents are too busy surviving to complain about the problems they see in the educational experiences of their children. This takes a huge toll on their children in general and particularly on their children’s learning experiences.

Another negative trend found in America’s schools is that of introducing material that tends to emasculate boys and men, while at the same time pushes girls and women to be more aggressive and compete with boys and men. This practice has opened once closed doors and opportunities for women, but it has also created new societal problems in the workplace and at home. There are always exceptions, but most women are not naturally as tough as our current society and schools portray them to be. Most men, however, have remained as they have for many thousands of years: bolder, less sensitive, and more aggressive, all qualities that are often necessary in the world of business.

Common Core Designed to Brainwash Children

Common Core must be recognized for what it is, a failed government education system, designed as a way to brainwash children so they grow up to accept, without question, that which elites in our government want established: a new society based on Socialism — one in which we are all members of a one world order and where our citizens individual liberties and freedoms are reduced if not eliminated. In its place government would control our lives.

As has already happened in our public schools through Common Core, all aspects of religion, except that of Islam instruction, has been removed. In this new society parents would also become less important. Even now children are being told to listen to what their teachers are telling them and not to their parents.

Common Core also discourages critical thinking, that there is only one right way to think and that is the progressive way. This leads to the acceptance of political correctness and demands that we accept that which has destroyed once great nations in the past: rampant immorality and oppressive government. Progressive thinking has led to other irregularities in our society that many Americans now accept as undisputed fact. Can Socialism be far behind when such issues have begun to dominate our society with few serious objections?

Parents Must Take Responsibility

We should review our American history in classrooms, but that is not happening. Most of our schools today do not spend time teaching American History. Civics has also been eliminated from the school curriculum. It was Winston Churchill who said: “A nation that forgets its past has no future.” It was Winston Churchill who said: “A nation that forgets its past has no future.”

Parents need to be aware of what their children are learning with Common Core. The future of this nation depends on our actions now, as these classrooms of children will one day be making the decisions.

As evidenced by Common Core, federal involvement in education has been an epic failure. It must end. Power, authority, and responsibility must be returned to the state and local government, and parental choice must be implemented for the citizenry. These common-sense practices are what made America great and will do so in the future.

Religion-politics_wide

By Nancy Thorner & Bonnie O’Neil –

This question is particularly important to consider today, as opportunities and ways to communicate have greatly expanded, allowing limitless opportunities to share information. While this is a positive in our lives, the problem is in knowing how to separate fact from fiction in this world of massive information. Media sources pour out information daily, but there is no real assurance of accuracy and verifying the material eats up hours we do not have. This is especially true during election periods when candidate material fills our inboxes and mailboxes daily, often with opposing statements. Obviously, it is wise to be cautious but who has the time to research it all?

More and more voices are raising concerns that the upcoming mid-term 2018 elections will further ignite clashes between supporters of President Trump and his increasingly agitated critics in a partisan political battle that has been brewing and continually gaining momentum. Stanley Greenberg, former President Bill Clinton’s pollster, is warning of a “civil war.”  Purdue University President Mitchell E. Daniels, former President Ronald Reagan’s political director and a two-term Indiana Republican governor, sees the nation dividing into feuding “tribes” that gravitate to tyrants who “bludgeon” opponents.

Electing the right people to govern us — those who will make and execute our laws according to our Constitution and Biblical views — has never been more important due to the deep gulf of differences that separate our two political parties.  Many of the key political issues prevalent today relate to moral issues. While this has been largely true throughout history, it has never been more so than today. The outcome of future elections will likely determine the course America will follow, thus making who and what we vote for exceeding important.

Accuracy of political information

It remains problematic as to where the most accurate sources for political information can be found.  Where can voters find reliable, trustworthy information?  Confusing literature, misinformation, accusations, and/or blatant lies sow confusion, which, in turn, results in many of our citizens ignoring the voting process all together.  In a world with so many distractions it is difficult and time consuming to research information and many remain confused even after their research.   This is the reason many would-be voters choose not to vote at all.

This is obviously not a good decision, yet some prefer it to voting for the wrong candidate or a ballot measure they may later regret.  According to the United States Election Project, nearly half of eligible voters (46.9 percent approximately 231,556,622 people) did not vote in the 2016 election. That nearly half of this nation’s citizens didn’t bother to vote is troubling, but possibly preferable to those who vote for whoever sends the most campaign literature, which is rarely believable material.

Party partisanship has increased with rhetoric that causes Americans to be confused and/or divided over important issues such as immigration and moral issues that include abortion and homosexual marriage.  Often, citizens vote based on pure Party lines.  But how many voters know both political parties change their party platforms from year to year?   A comparison of the Republican party platform today resembles the Democrat Party Platform of the 1960’s, while the current Democrat Party now embraces many socialist changes they once denounced. It is not wise to believe candidates who state they will vote opposite of their party platform, because most politicians will vote in accordance to what their party leaders decide and demand.   It has never been more important for citizens to find a source free of bias that has done time-consuming research and is willing to share it.

Importance of Voter Guides

Voters are more likely to trust a resource for information they can trust if that resource is akin to their political views.  Each political party has those who create excellent voter guides created by knowledgeable people who follow politics and are willing to put a great deal of time and energy into developing a voting guide for other like-minded people. Having this resource encourages many citizens to fill out their ballot with more confidence.  As many Christians trust their church, Christians do express their appreciation when churches do make the time and the effort needed to find a reliable Christian Voter Guide and make it available to them before each election period.

President Trump is at war with many media sources which he has designated as “fake news,” and there is growing evidence to support our President’s concerns.  Far too many of our mainstream media has proven to be exceeding bias, as they arrogantly determine what and who they prefer to support, but due to their partisan Leftists bias, many no longer trust them as reliable.  They took often decide what to report and the slant as to how they report it.  What is not said is often as important as what is stated.  One only needs to access FOX for a few hours and then switch to CNN to see how media sources differ as they report the same story, illustrating why it is not wise to trust every media source.

Many Conservative Christians would be grateful for their church to offer a guide to help them vote according to their Christian beliefs.  But why is there a hesitancy to do so?  Some church leaders are not sure if this is what their congregation might want them to do.  Others do not have a staff member willing to research the issue.  Too many are  concerned mixing politics with the church is a bad idea.  Only black churches whose ministers always rent out their pulpits to Democrats at election time are free to be as partisan as they like.  Nevertheless, It becomes important to consider the future of America, and that is largely contingent on who we elect as our leaders.  If Christian church leaders remain mum on all things political, this could prove detrimental to the future of this nation.

Decline of Christianity in Europe

As observed in Europe where Socialism has taken hold, and where the State has mostly replaced God as the nanny of its citizens, many blame this shocking change on the silence of churches for failing to take a stance on issues demanding discussion.  As can be ascertained, the absence of one’s voice in opposition to a subject can be misinterpreted as consent.  Issues such as abortion, homosexuality, divorce, pornography, drug abuse and other activities the Bible states as sinful need to be condemned from every pulpit.  If not practiced Christians can become complacent on immoral issues, resulting in fewer who want to attend church out of a sense of guilt in knowing they have made seriously bad choices.

Rather than speak out against the immorality permeating their cities, churches in Europe rarely addressed the issues. Politicians were elected who did little to improve their countries morality, and often it was just the opposite.  The result was inevitable, in that Church attendance severely dropped throughout Europe, and many point to the increased, unaddressed immorality as its cause.

Is This Nation Far Behind Europe?

Do we wish to follow Europe by quietly ignoring laws that oppose those set forth in the Bible and where empty churches must be sold. Already this nation has fewer churches and fewer filled pews. Will we see our empty churches being used as restaurants and a variety of businesses due to the Christian population decreasing year after year?   Will America’s fate follow that of Europe due to the hesitancy of Christians becoming involved in political matters and where many are Christians in name only?  Where was the Church and all Christians when America made abortion legal?

How did this happen when for many centuries families functioned around the church and our nation was considered a Christian nation.  Sunday was always a day in which most families worshiped together in the church of their choice.  Atheists were the exception, but it was rare for them to speak out against the church.

Have we, as a nation, become complacent and this ourselves so self-sufficient we think America is infallible and no longer need God as our center?  We have allowed God to be taken out of our schools, we caved and allowed abortions … and now Americans have aborted over 60 million infants in their mother’s womb.  Have we become so self- absorbed  that we don’t think we need God, Christianity, the Bible, or common sense morality in our lives anymore?

Are we avoiding history or have we forgotten it.   Other Christian nations who abandoned God have paid a terrible price. Consider Germany during the Hitler era. This once thriving Christian nation took their eyes away from Christ and quietly allowed evil to absorb their nation. Whether Saddam and Gomorro, Hitler’s Germany, or Casto’s Cuba there is proof of the need for God in our lives.  Those who forget eventually regret it.

Moral leaders Needed to Fight a Moral Battle

Our country is currently engaged in a moral battle, and it is imperative that our church leaders recognize this and the importance of who we prefer as our leaders.  Our choice of leaders has an enormous impact on the direction of our nation.   Can Christian deny something has gone terribly wrong with our society that votes with a political party and their candidates who oppose our biblical values.  Even though Romney’s 2012 platform was more compatible with the church doctrine, it was the Catholic vote that helped Obama win the election. Catholics likewise favored abortion and homosexual marriages.  Protestant church leaders remained silent while sin has flourished due to laws American politicians and courts approved.

We need God’s guidance in homes, our churches, and our government.  Without His help, we will see the decline of America, as we investigate history and find that same pattern in the success and then decline of many nations. Biblical Scriptures indicate God protects those who are in harmony with Him and destroys those who choose evil.

The next presidential election in 2020 will be an important one.  Christian leaders must take responsibility for their members by providing accurate voting material and encouraging everyone to do their patriotic duty and vote.   Every one of us must encourage them to do so and be willing to help facilitate Christian Voter Guides, as well as provide voter registration tables, if we are to remain “one nation under God.”
