By Nancy Thorner –

President Donald Trump’s Joint Session of Congress address Tuesday night was a knockout, and not just for his base which loved Trump even before his well-received speech. President Trump pulled no punches. Instead of offering shallow platitudes of little substance to the American people, he outlined what he had done so far to fulfill the promise he made while campaigning.

President Donald Trump might have been one of the least popular president at his inauguration, but even CNN’s own poll could not hide the numbers after his address.  According to a CNN/ORC poll of viewers, the president received an overwhelmingly positive reaction on Tuesday, February 28 when addressing a joint session of Congress:  78% of viewers reacted positively; 69% say Trump’s policies will move country in right direction; and 69% are more optimistic.

No fan of Trump, Ben Stein had this to say about Trump’s address, writing on March1, 2017:

“Let’s not kid ourselves. That was a super speech. Not flowery, except that in parts it was eloquent without being flowery. Not poetry, except that it was poetry. It was a blast from the heart of the heart of America. It was as if Mr. Trump did not even have to use words. His sincerity and power in touching what Americans want to hear was beyond prose…

“I have been a speechwriter since I was 18. First for Senator Joe Tydings (D-Md.) and then for Mr. Nixon and Mr. Ford and for decades for myself. I listen to all speeches carefully and with an ear to their music. Sometimes, as with Jimmy Carter, there was a dull thud. Recently, there was the wild self-mockery of Mr. Obama talking to whites like a Cambridge, Mass. Don, and a few hours later to black people in Philadelphia as if he were raised with hands bleeding from picking cotton in the Mississippi Delta.

“Tonight’s was an early Mozart symphony —far better than we could have expected, hitting every right note, and with the promise of still greater to come. This man is a fast learner. And as my pal, John Coyne, an ace speechwriter himself, said to me recently, “His heart is in the right place.” He’s off and running.”

CNN’s Van Jones, a frequent Trump critic, after the president’s speech to the nation night became emotional and was clearly impressed by Trump’s tribute to Navy SEAL Ryan Owens, who died in a raid in Yemen.  Van Jones called Ryan “one of the most extraordinary moments you have ever seen in American politics, period” and that it was the moment Trump “became president of the United States.”

When Trump has seemingly reached an all-time high with the American people, I am concerned that a terrible border adjustment tax, for which  Steve Bannon has joined forces with Paul Ryan to push for, could amount to a potential betrayal on the part of Trump if enacted.

I agree with Trump’s past statements that the border tax is too complicated.  If we must raise taxes on imports, it must be selective tariffs against the worst abusers of “free trade” to get better trade deals.

Like a Value Added Tax, a Border Adjustment Tax will just be a sneaky new way to fund more big government or crony capitalist tax cuts.  Sorry, Mitch McConnell, you’ll just have to get used to spending less of the people’s money.

President Trump’s budget is being kind in cutting the bloated and ineffective State Department by only 37%. There is plenty of wholesale waste to fund tax cuts and a small rise in defense spending (5% after inflation) after the Obama wasteland for our military.

President Trump seems to have the wind at his back.  For Republicans, it was the speech they had been waiting for.

What could stop Trump besides a catastrophe?

  • If Trump should be persuaded to backtrack on some of his promises made to his Republican base, such as granting a path to citizenship for the millions of illegal immigrants and failing to repeal and replace Obamacare.
  • If Trump allows those who are undermining his administration to continue to do so in ways that quality for treason.  It has been reported that Obama plans to pull off as Honduran style coup d’état on an unsuspecting America.  The Obama’s D.C. home has been made over as a well-equipped nerve center for their undercover plan to mastermind the insurgency against President Trump.  Ms. Jarrett has already stowed her bags there and has moved into the roomy, 8,200-square foot, $5.3-million Kaloroma mansion to work closely on the coming coup d’état.
  • If Trump doesn’t quickly identify and get rid of the leakers and the department holdovers from the Obama administration to replace with his own people, leaks will continue and Trump’s policies will be thwarted.

Hopefully, even now Trump is planning his final trap to round those up whose actions no longer represent Freedom of Speech, but have advanced to treason.  This includes George Soros who is attempting to undermine a democratically elected government through his billions to left wing organization through which, among other things, rioters are being paid to disrupt gatherings in which violence is viewed as the only viable way to respond.

If you have a Republican Congressman, please write and tell them no new taxes, period.  Cut spending instead!  It can be done, especially since Trump did not have the support of the crony capitalists and bureaucrats who wanted to keep the status quo so nothing would change.

Also, don’t be fooled by the dissent that is being manufactured to sabotage the Trump administration by the unhinged and the elites following the election of President Trump.  Why?  Because their dream of a One World Government has been derailed and is now being replaced by Trump’s Make America Great Again.

Trump

By Nancy Thorner –

The future of the Supreme Court was the most important issue for pro-life voters when they voted overwhelmingly for Donald J. Trump as the 45th president of the U.S. on November 9, 2016.  Throughout his campaign, Trump repeated promised he would appoint pro-life justices, in contrast to those pro-abortion Hillary Clinton would select. Based upon the next president’s nominations, the Supreme Court could determine whether 58 million more abortions would take place, or if pre-born children will once again enjoy legal protection.

In Donald Trump’s op-ed published on November 6, 2016, at USA Today, “Why you should vote for me,” he put the spotlight on the importance of the Supreme Court.  Included was this statement:  “I will restore the constitutional rule of law and nominate Supreme Court justices who will do the same.”

Of merit is Trump’s pro-life pledge made in his third debate with moderator Chris Wallace, noted here, in which Trump tells Wallace that the judges he will appoint will be pro-life.  Trump’s response when Wallace asked Trump specifically if he wanted the court, including the justices Trump would name, to overturn Roe v. Wade:

If we put another two or perhaps three justices on, that is really what will happen. That will happen automatically in my opinion. Because I am putting pro-life justices on the court. I will say this. It will go back to the states and the states will then make a determination.

Trump’s letter addressed to Dear Pro-LIfe Leaders in September of 2016  lays out Trump’s pro-life commitments in an even stronger form addressing these four specific commitments: nominating pro-life justices; signing into law the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act; defending Planned Parenthood; and making the Hyde Amendment permanent.

Trump to be held accountable to his pro-life pledge

To insure that Trump does live up to his promise to appoint pro-life judges and that he is held accountable if he errs, Andy Schlafly, a director of Eagle Forum and son of its great founder, Phyllis Schlafly, drafted a coalition letter (read here) that was delivered to both President-elect Trump in New York and Vice President-elect Pence in D.C. on Thursday, December 29, 2016. A remarkable 90 groups have signed onto Schlafly’s coalition letter. Paul Caprio of Family Pac Federal and David Smith of the Illinois Family Institute were signers here in Illinois.  More groups continue to ask to join Schlafly’s coalition letter. Additions are welcomed.

A segment of  Schlafly’s coalition letter was read on Fox News Sunday.  The segment was aired again later on Sunday. This widely-viewed news show likewise used Schlafly’s evaluation of the candidates.  It is is important that you view Schlafly’s chart to garner how he rates the Supreme Court candidates.

Tony Perkins recently said, “There’s clearly some on the list that are better than others.”  There are, indeed, vast differences among candidates on the list, especially with respect to Trump’s pro-life pledge.  Some of the candidates (including Sykes and Colloton) have even repeatedly taken the pro-abortion side.

The importance of pro-life judges

Why is it so important that Trump does nominate someone who will fill the vacancy left by Scalia’s death with a candidate in the image of Scalia?

The biggest prize in the presidential election was always the Supreme Court. President-elect Donald J. Trump is now positioned to make it more conservative, possibly for generations to come.  Justice Antonin Scalia’s seat, vacant since he died in February, will almost certainly be filled by a conservative nominee.  Thus, the Court will be back to its full strength and will again tilt right, as it has for decades, emboldening Chief Justice John Roberts and leaving Kennedy as the ultimate decider.

Of note is that the man or woman who replaces Scalia on the bench won’t change its balance of power.  Trump’s more lasting impact is dependent on the other eight justices, particularly those old enough to favor retirement or risk dying in office. Liberal justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer are 83 and 78, respectively, and Justice Anthony Kennedy, a conservative who often sides with liberals on major cases, is 80.  If the president-elect gets to replace any of these three after taking office, the court will shift to the right.

It is therefore important that Trump’s not only upholds his pro-life pledge in making his selection of the first U.S. Supreme Court vacancy to replace Scalia, but that All of Trump’s expected 100+ judicial nominees should be pro-life.  The advisers to the first President Bush thought he could get away with breaking his “no new taxes” pledge, but he couldn’t. It’s a mistake for anyone to recommend, even implicitly, that Trump break his pro-life pledge.

Trump’s list of 21 scrutinized

In a few brief remarks to reporters at Trump Tower in New York City on Wednesday, November 17, Kellyanne Conway said the president-elect will make a Supreme Court pick from the list of 21 candidates he identified during his campaign. What should we make of Trump’s much-publicized list of 21 potential high court nominees

In an interview with Steve Deace of Conservative Review on December 12, 2016, Andy Schlafly expressed misgivings about the list of 21 potential Supreme Court candidates, raising the question as to why pro-life advocates should be skeptical of Trump’s list. Schlafly, believing that the Supreme Court has more influence than the president does, at least within our country as it currently stands, is in the forefront of making sure that Trump isn’t fooled or mislead into nominating a Supreme Court candidate who cannot be certified as 100% pro-life.

Regarding the list of 21, Schlafly explains that the 21 names were put forth by the Trump campaign to calm people down and to reassure them he would pick a good, strict constructionist to the Supreme Court.  Some of names did come from The Heritage Foundation, while others came from the Federalist Society.  As a member of the Federalist Society, “Schlafly points out that the Federalist Society is not a pro-life organization.”

This has led to multiple nominees to the Supreme Court who voted with the pro-abortion side.

Even so, pressure is building to deflect Trump away from his pledge by the Federalist Society.  The Institute for Justice just published an article in USA Today here that says nothing about Trump’s pro-life pledge and ends up endorsing the most pro-abortion judge on the list of 21 given to Trump, Diane Sykes.

Trump transition team identifies the eight front runners

A report from Politico on January 1, 2017, did narrow down and identify the eight front runner that the Trump transition team has identified to replace late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.  The profiles are here on the eight possible nominees:  William Pryor, Diane Sykes, Raymond Kethledge, Joan Larsen, Neil Gorsuch, Steven Colloton, Raymond Gruender, and Thomas Hardiman.

According to Andy Schlafly, most of the candidates in the Politico report are names we should be worried about.  Of concern to Andy are Diane Sykes, Steve Colloton, Joan Larson, Neil Gorsuch, Raymond Kethledge, and William Pryor, who recently decided to grant homosexual groups access to middle schools as young as sixth grade to establish their “clubs.”  Charles Canady from the Florida Supreme Court most impressed Andy on Trump’s list of 21, yet Canady didn’t even make the narrowed down Politico Trump list which identified the eight front runners.

Organized opposition will attempt to undo Trump’s pro-life pledge

Self-described “pro-life” groups in D.C. must be held more accountable.  Some don’t even say they support Trump’s pro-life pledge, while others are obviously not speaking out as they should be.  Some even tried to talk others out of speaking out.

Yesterday the Democrats in opposition said they would try to block whoever the nominee is.  So we should continue to insist on a pro-life nominee worth fighting for, because it is going to be a fight regardless.  If Trump’s advisers persuade him to break his pro-life pledge, then it will become a disastrous replay of the first President Bush’s breaking of his famous “no new taxes” pledge.

The media and senators will push for a woman because all four women on the list are not pro-life.  But there are plenty of pro-life women judges having better qualifications than those on the list.  The most-qualified pro-life women should be interviewed for the job.   Judges Jennifer Elrod and Edith Jones, both recommended in Schlafly’s coalition letter, should be interviewed by Trump for the job.

Trump’s pledge to the American people in the final debate and afterwards was to pick only pro-life nominees, not to pick only from the list.  For a job that lasts 30+ years, we should not accept anything less than the best.

Trump-drain-the-swamp

By Nancy Thorner –

The shameless “borking” of Trump to paint him as a woman hater, one who supports violence, a loony-tune, and so much worse, has become non-stop since he became the Republican presidential nominee this past July, fostered by print media and TV networks which have unabashedly joined forces with the Democratic Party for the election of Hillary. Rightly perceived by Republican establishment elite is that Trump, not of the establishment, would shake up the status quo and the power and money that flows to those who support the globalist agenda of the rich and powerful working behind the scenes to control this nation’s destiny, such as George Soros, Bill Gates, the U.N., Bush and Clinton cartels, members of the elite Republican establishment in the U.S. House and Senate, and foreign countries who gave to the Clinton Foundation in what is known as Pay for Play.

Fifty Republicans, claiming to be national security experts, signed a letter predicting that Trump would be the worst president in history when it comes to keeping America safe. I’m confused!  Isn’t the first duty of the president to keep the American people safe?  How will Hillary’s call for opening the nation’s borders through which murderers, drugs, drug lords, cartels, and hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants flow and extending a welcoming mat to thousands of un-vetted Syrians for whom we could query our database until the cows come home and yet draw blanks when no records exist, keep Americans safe?

Unlike Trump, Hillary can’t even define the enemy as Islamic extremist terrorists and her support of the Iran nuclear deal is the worst appeasement policy in modern American history and has compromised our security.

Establishment Republicans Foster Trump Movement

Spineless and incompetent establishment Republicans created the Trump movement when it allowed Obama to ran the show leaving this nation with a $20 trillion plus unsustainable debt and an economy where Obama looks to be the only U.S. president in history who will fail to deliver a single year of 3.0%+ economic growth, lucky if he’ll averages overall a 1.55% GDP growth rate.  Hillary’s promise to raise taxes, which instead of increasing the GDP or fostering job growth, will cripple business expansion and thus job creator.

I’m still trying to comprehend how Republicans, and anyone else, could imagine Trump being worse than Clinton, especially when the main criteria for choosing or rejecting a candidate so often stems from the offensiveness of a candidate’s language.

In the final debate between Clinton and Trump moderated by Chris Wallace, Trump called Hillary a nasty woman. Immediately women took offense.  Maybe if women knew the about Hillary (She also pays women staff members less than men.), they wouldn’t be so judgmental about Trump’s pubic statements.  It has been reported  that Hillary is a rotten person, a really nasty woman when she is in a private situation.  Hillary’s abusive behavior towards people has been noted by many X-secret service agents.  Byrne even wrote a book about how Hillary treats , Crisis of Character. Hillary was described by Byrne as one type of person when in the public, but a total bitch behind the cameras.  Further remarking, “Without doubt Hillary is the biggest phony in politics today.”

If corruption is a troublesome happening, Hillary is the one who steals the show.  In his Project Veritus project, James O’Keefe has exposed corrupt practices with ties to Hillary’s campaign.  O’Keefe’s first video explained the dark secrets and the hidden connections and organizations the Clinton campaign uses to incite violence at Trump rallies.  His second video exposed a diabolical step-by-step voter fraud strategy discussed by top Democratic operatives and showed one key operative admitting that the Democrats have been rigging elections for fifty years. In Part III, the conversations with Democrat operatives Bob Creamer and Scott Foval suggest Secretary Hillary Clinton may have been illegally consulted and given her approval for adults dressing up as Donald Duck to appear at various Trump activities to antagonize the Republican presidential candidate and his supporters.

Contest Between Globalists and Grass Roots Americans

The upcoming November election is about neither candidate; it is between the globalists and grass root Americans who want to take their country back from the globalists who have charted a new direction for this nation, one that does not align with this nation’s Constitution.  Sometimes called the New World Order, the Globalist Agenda isn’t really new.  It’s the merger of communism and the capitalism system where economic control remains and is concentrated in private hands, and social control is based on collectivism.

Tens of millions are being poured into the Clinton campaign by those who deem it essential, at any cost, for Hillary to win.  Some of the main globalist operatives include the shadowy figure of George Soros who as a billionaire is sponsoring ads through front groups; Bill Gates who through his Foundation is responsible for the failed Common Core agenda in our public schools; and the U.N. with its globalist sustainability policies which Clinton has already signed on to.

Meanwhile, Trump is on the campaign trail speaking to record audiences every day who believe in him and are aware of the numbers stacked against him with a print and TV media that refuses to report on Hillary missteps, her health problems, or the damaging WikiLeaks that have surfaced during the past few weeks.

Trump’s First 100 Days List

Consider what happened on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at a Trump rally in Gettysburg, Pa. where Trump laid out a list of 28 things he would do if elected president in the first 100 day.  The first five are:

  1. Propose a Constitutional Amendment to impose term limits on all members of Congress
  2. Institute a hiring freeze on all federal employees to reduce federal workforce through attrition (exempting military, public safety, and public health)
  3. Require for every new federal regulation, two existing regulations must be eliminated.
  4. Institute a five year-ban on White House and Congressional officials becoming lobbyists after they leave government service
  5. Create a lifetime ban on White House officials lobbying on behalf of a foreign government.

I watched the rally on my TV, but when checking the Chicago area newspapers the next day there was no mention of Trump’s 100 day pledge to restore prosperity to our country, secure our communities, and bring honesty to our government.  Instead, every newspaper and TV account, to my disgust, but not totally unexpected, avoided any mention of Trump’s 100-day plan, but instead covered the remarks he made about possibly suing the women who came out of the woodwork at just the right time to make sexual accusations, some of which have already been proven false.

If Hillary is the victor, might the stupidity and shallowness of the American people be blamed who are being led like sheep, grossly misinformed, to their own slaughter?   I only wish the American people were being fooled.  The tragedy is that there are millions of middle-class Americans who have signed on for food stamps, millions more who only care about having their college tuition paid for by others, and millions of others who are scamming the system by receiving disability checks they’re not entitled to receive.

Trump Represents Last Line of Defense to Secure Our Freedoms and Restore Nation’s Greatness

What a far cry this is from the country I grew up in when in school the “Pledge” and the singing of “America” always started each school day.  I was taught to love my country, to respect the flag, and to cherish freedom and liberty.  We had a society who believed in the rule of law, moral values were respected, and it was shameful to receive benefits from the government if not merited.

The world is more dangerous than when Obama became president.  His weakness as President has aroused evil, when it is through a show of strength that respect is gained.  Trump is the last line of defense against a continuation of Obama’s failed policies, which would happen should Hillary be elected to preside over Obama’s third term. A Hillary election would render the Second Amendment (gun rights) meaningless and would imperil religious liberty through Hillary’s Supreme Court appointees.

Trump desires to help this country without any competing interests other than his love for this nation and its people.  His business acumen is also needed

Sam-Clovis-Donald-Trump-Dubuque-Iowa-Screenshot
Donald Trump with advisor Sam Clovis

By Nancy Thorner –

Presidential hopeful Donald Trump announced the appointment of Sam Clovis to his staff as his co-chair and senior policy advisor at a press conference at the Grand River Center on August 25, 2015 in Dubuque, Iowa.  Before signing on to Trump’s campaign, Clovis had served as the chairman to Texas Governor Rick Perry’s campaign.

At the news conference, Trump said the campaign hoped to use Clovis to “tap into his expansive expertise in economics, national security and international relations.”

Trump said: ‘I am pleased to welcome Dr. Clovis to our team and am confident he will be a great asset in Iowa and around the country as we continue to lead all local and national polls and share my vision to make America great again.’

Clovis said that he was both ‘humbled and honored’ to take on the role and join team Trump.

As co-chair and policy advisor for 2016 Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, Sam Clovis performs many roles in the Trump campaign, acting as a surrogate, crafting policy proposals, and reaching out to policy experts.  As a tenured professor of economics at Morningside College and a Tea Party activist, Clovis served as Iowa’s 4th district chair for the 2012 Republican convention. In 2014, Clovis ran for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate in Iowa and then as state treasurer. He was also a radio host, having hosted the conservative radio show “Impact With Sam Clovis” on KSCJ-AM.

Clovis addressed Eagle Council XLV held September 16-17-18, 2016, at the Marriott St. Louis Airport-St. Louis, Missouri.

Clovis lauds America’s conservative movement pillars

Sam Clovis, speaking on behalf of Trump as his Senior Policy Advisor, addressed Council members on Saturday, September l7.  His topic, “The Pillars of the Movement.”

He described himself as a college professor and a fighter pilot with a PhD.  Clovis commented in a light hearted way that as Senior Policy Advisor he “doesn’t have to be nice to the media.”

Clovis described “The Pillars of the Movement” in the closet philosophies of Barry Goldwater, Ronald Reagan, and Russel Kirk, along with the added likeness of James Buchanan, and with William Buckley present for “garnish” and Phyllis Schlafly as the final “seasoning.”

The pillars of the Trump “movement” were described accordingly:

  •  “Modern” because it draws upon a process that started with Barry Goldwater which has now evolved to the point it is today.
  • “Singularly and uniquely American” in its recognition of this nation’s unique place in the world.
  • “Conservatism” in the image of Goldwater, Reagan, and Kirk in calling for limited government, fiscal responsibility, a strong defense, protecting cultural values of this nation.

It is Modern American Conservatism that puts America first.   Just what are the national interests of this nation?  Clovis listed them as 1) to protect the citizens of the U.S., 2) to protect our resources, 3) to protect our allies, but 4) not one drop of blood should be shed unless in America’s interest.

Most importantly, America’s strengths were given as those of individual liberty through the exercise of free will and conscience, the upholding of the traditional nuclear family as the building blocks of society, and privacy of faith in our society.

In response to a question about what Trump would initially resolve to do if elected president, the answer given by Clovis should be applauded by all citizens who care about their nation and what awaits future generations of Americans if the wrong choice is made.

  • Education is the most important issue with which to deal.   Trump aims to eliminate Common Core and get rid of the Department of Education and will start dismantling the Department immediately.
  • In resolving the state of our active forces, Trump will ensure commanders the political cover they need from an administration, so our forces can do what must be done in combat without fear of unreasonably being punished.
  • The rule now pending for every sailor to receive transgender education by 2017 would be eliminated.
  • The Johnson Amendment passed by Lyndon Johnson, which limits political activity of churches and threatens religious them with a loss of their tax-exempt status if they openly advocate their political views, would be nullified.
  • Obama’s executive orders would be rescinded.

In closing, Clovis emphasized the faith Donald Trump has that conservatives will take this nation back in November and “make America great again.”

Thorner’s tribute to Phyllis SchlaflyThe Conservative Case for Trump takes on special meaning with Schlafly’s death

One of the topics in Monday night’s presidential debate was, naturally, crime, law and order. For some implausible reason, Hillary claimed that crime is down from it’s peak in 1991 and continues to decline. This flies in the face of yesterday’s report by the FBI that violent crime is up over 10% from 2015.

Trump-family-presidential-candidate
By Nancy Thorner and Elvira Hasty –

The following comes from a recent article by Timm Amundson on The Federalist:

“Trump is usually rude and obnoxious. His demeanor can be arrogant and dismissive. At times, he comports himself as reckless and willing to lash out prematurely, prior to fully understanding all of the facts at hand. To put it simply, he is a wrecking ball.”

While a Trump supporter, Mr. Amundson apparently felt he first had to apologize to his “conservative elitist friends.”  Does this sounds similar to other articles you’d read about “conservatives” who dare support Donald Trump?  How sad that maintaining political correctness has become the expected standard of operation.

Since every human being is sinful and harbors many faults, the same tone exhibited in the opening paragraph could apply to most individuals.  Why then is it that only Donald Trump deserves this hate-filled treatment, not only from organizations whose purpose it is to destroy the Trump candidacy, but also among those who call the shots within the Republican establishment?

Did we encounter this during the administration of Bill Clinton? There is no need to remind those who lived through the Clinton years of his vulgarity? And what about the vulgarity exhibited by the Republican establishment.  Under the pretense of listening to conservatives, the establishment enthusiastically endorsed John McCain and Mitt Romney in the last two presidential elections?  Or of the recent vulgarity shown by the GOP establishment through constant threats of a brokered convention, aimed at suppressing the voice of the Party’s base? It all depends on what the meaning of vulgarity is?  Right?

Americans should welcome a Trump presidency with open arms, not only for what he can accomplish, but also for replacing the vulgarity of the Obama family with the classy Trump family.  CNN presented an hour-long town hall meeting on Wednesday night, April 12, highlighting Donald Trump, the man, and his outstanding family.  It would be an astonishing transformation and welcomed in every corner of the world.
Religious individuals accept Donald Trump for his flaws, just as God accepts Christians and others, for we all have flaws. We have never heard bad words from Mr. Trump. The accusation of vulgarity comes from privileged elitists who have no respect for working people in places like Queens and Brooklyn where Trump was raised. As his son Donald Jr. has said:  Donald Trump is a blue collar billionaire.

Donald J. Trump recognizes that those who make this country run are working class Americans.  As a young man, Trump worked alongside construction workers.  He learned more from the working men and women than most congressmen have the opportunity to ever do.  Trump knows the working class and respects workers as individuals, unlike politicians who see them as an expendable collective mass who can be replaced by foreigners at lesser salaries in order to please fat-cat Republican Party donors.  Trump would end their gravy train!

Truth be told, it is not “vulgarity” that the GOP establishment and the media actually care about; it is the way Donald Trump’s honesty has damaged their political correct speeches, coupled with their lack of transparency in dealing with legislation. No more hiding behind “reaching out to Hispanics” (code phrase for welfare to illegals); no more hiding behind the “race card” that continues to hurt Black Americans living in Democratic cities; no more hiding behind the “feminist card” of being offended when a woman is not strong enough to face competition; no more hiding behind the “islamophobia charge” for wanting to vet Muslim immigrants; no more hiding behind “DREAM” for the Mexican children crossing the border illegally.  It will all end!

Donald Trump talks plainly and directly; he lets everyone know exactly what he thinks and what he’ll do to make America great again. And none of it includes the old politicians, the media, the lobbyists, the DC insiders. Finally the American people found a true patriot who is willing to sacrifice in order to stop the corruption of the D.C. bureaucracy. Welcome Donald Trump!  We’ve been waiting almost three decades.
For those who continue the mantra that Mr. Trump is not conservative, whatever it means these days, let me enumerate his position on our most pressing issues:
  1. Against illegal invasion of our country by securing the border building a WALL that Mexico will pay for.
  2. No amnesty. No sanctuary cities.
  3. Building a strong defense, with a feared military capacity.
  4. Support and help for our veterans, ending years of mistreatment.
  5. Support for our law enforcement agencies, such as the police and ICE.
  6. Stop the acceptance of Muslim immigrants until a time when we have a better understanding of the problem.  Best to build a safe zone in their countries.
  7. Destroy ISIS and fight radical Islam
  8. Rebuild our country infrastructure.
  9. Re-think and re-negotiate NATO and the expense of having our military all over the world.
  10. Reduce our over $19 Trillion debt.
  11. Eliminate waste by closing or reducing certain departments like Education.
  12. Reduce taxes for the low income and middle class Americans.
  13. Reduce regulations for businesses.
  14. Eliminate Common Core and make education local.
  15. Defend the Second Amendment.
  16. Repeal and replace Obamacare with private plans.
  17. Negotiate trade deals that are fair and take our country into account first.
  18. Bring jobs from overseas.
  19. Pro-life and support for our religious freedom rights.
  20. Become energy independent by exploiting all sources of energy production.
Which part of the above is not conservative?  But if the positions listed above are not conservative, then Thorner and Hasty cannot claim to be conservatives, yet at the same time stand in support of Trump. We need to stop labeling ourselves Democrat or Republican, liberal or conservative, and start by being American first.
Cruz supporters and others who genuinely hate Trump, continue to repeat that Trump is not serious about these positions because he once was “a Democrat.”  First, take a look at the table below that shows his political donations since 1989; keeping in mind that business people always give these donations to both parties.

Trump’s political contributions
Trump’s political contributions data is from https://www.opensecrets.org/ and http://www.followthemoney.org/. A breakdown of the data can be viewed here.
Screen Shot 2016-04-15 at 12.48.41 PM
Second, why is Trump being deceitful now, having been a businessman before his recent move to the political arena, while Cruz is perceived as the truth-teller after having served only a few years in the Senate?   What is the Cruz Senate record?  Ted Cruz voted in favor of amnesty; never proposed building a wall; voted for a very large increase of H-1B visas; favored neoconservatives in war expansions; never intervened for our veterans; and wrote with Paul Ryan an op-ed in WSJ in favor of TPP legislation.  Lately in his campaigning, Cruz seems to have changed his mind on several issues.
Donald Trump, unlike Ted Cruz, has already accomplished much in life. It cannot be disputed that Trump has built an excellent and successful business empire, but more importantly, he has raised incredibly bright, talented, articulate children who seemingly have good moral values.   By their fruits, you shall know them!

The next hurdle we must face is the nasty battle between Trump and Cruz, which is also causing friends to disagree and take offense.   Our enemies delight in seeing our “soft spots” exposed, making it easier for them to push through their radical agenda.
May we not forget that whether we are firmly planted on the side of the Cruz or Trump camp, either one would be so much better for America than either Socialist Sanders or Hillary, who has left a long trail of terrible mistakes in her quest for power.

By Nancy Thorner & Elvira Hasty –

As conservative Republicans and devout Christians, we support and endorse Donald J. Trump for President. Our views on Trump have changed much in the past eight months.  We were never one of his fans; never watched “The Apprentice” and only occasionally watched him on some news shows.  His impact on us, whether liking or disliking the man, was more like neutral, having never approved of Trump entering the already crowded race.

After the original excitement by his followers, we decided to add Donald Trump to our vetting process. And, yes, both of us vet candidates.  We followed up voting records of politicians and do as much research as possible from different internet sources, never relying on the TV or newspaper media because of their bias.  And, of course, we rely on prayer for the Lord to guide us along the right path.  Although God has given mankind the gift of discernment, but with no instructions, it is at times difficult to know how best to use it. The answer is that God had also given mankind a brain that could think, research, and find facts; in other words, we could look up and discern facts.

Through research, we discovered many surprising things about Donald Trump.

He received an excellent education having graduated from Wharton School of Business with a degree in Economics. Donald’s father taught him about hard work, making Donald learn the trade on construction sites where he worked right alongside with blue collar workers. It impressed us that Mr. Trump passed this on to his children.  They learned the lesson well, and today his three grown children are highly educated, eloquent, polite, humble, hard-working, family-oriented, and well-adjusted individuals. They were raised by billionaire parents in New York City, and yet not one of them has ever been involved in any scandal. Donald Trump and his children have never used drugs; do not drink alcohol and do not smoke.

We have also been impressed by Mr. Trump’s work ethics, by his passion for his business, and his fair treatment of his employees. He has been able to create thousands of good jobs that provide higher standard of living for many American families, who, in turn, pay the taxes and invest in goods and services that fuel our economy. That is how capitalism should work!

Trump’s personal life enters the fray

Despite Trump’s three marriages both of his ex-wives are on friendly terms with him; his first wife, Ivana, supports his candidacy and speaks well of him. He married Melania in the Presbyterian Church which allows divorce and re-marriage. Donald Trump is also a compassionate person. He has given money to several worthy charities and has helped many people in need without publicizing his good works. Some years ago he helped a family in California who needed to fly their young son to New York for medical assistance but no airline would take him because of all the equipment, including oxygen tank, that needed to go with him. Once Trump heard about it, he sent his private plane to pick up the child and his family and bring them to NYC at no cost.

It is insulting when “pious” people treat Mr. Trump as a willful sinner and when the elitist media finds him vulgar. Have these “pious” people read the Bible?  Do they not know what Jesus said about judging? What does morality mean to them? Donald Trump is fighting against the worst immoralities we face in the world today that are akin to evil:  Islamic terrorist savages; cheating our American workers of good jobs; loss of our sovereignty and freedoms; hatred for our law enforcement; and mistreatment of our veterans.  Even so the elitist media seems much more preoccupied with “tone” and “vulgar” language than with the real dangers we face. Hypocrites!   And Christians should never forget that God chose sinners like Abraham and David (adultery) to lead His works; just as Jesus later chose Peter and Paul to spread His evangelical message.

Biased reporting

As for voters who feel most strongly about social issues, Donald Trump has consistently said he is pro-life. Just the other evening when asked about Planned Parenthood, Trump said that despite good works that it can do for women’s health, if Planned Parenthood continues with abortions he would defund the organization.

The media has even lied about Trump’s sister being appointed judge in NY because “she’s a liberal”, which she is not. The truth is she was first appointed by Ronald Reagan. According to Wikepedia:

Maryanne Barry (née Trump, formerly Desmond; born April 5, 1937) is a Senior United States Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Barry was nominated by President Ronald Reagan on September 14, 1983, to a seat on the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.  A Republican, Barry was nominated to be a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit by President Bill Clinton on June 17, 1999, to replace H. Lee Sarokin, who had retired in 1996.

Why did Maryanne Barry’s nomination happen under President Clinton, and not that of President Reagan who had first nominated her?  President Clinton in 1998 had nominated Robert Raymar to the seat, but that nomination was never given a hearing by the Senate Judiciary Committee, and Raymar’s nomination expired at the end of that year. Clinton chose not to renominate Raymar to the Third Circuit seat during the next congressional term, and elected instead to nominate Barry. Barry was unanimously confirmed by the United States Senate on September 13, 1999, and received her commission on September 22, 1999.

Three reasons to support Trump

This nation is now at a point of no return.  Americans need to vote smart, with logic and not emotion, remembering that “We the People” are not choosing a Saint, a Pope or a Nobel Prize winner.  What is needed is a common sense Leader!

Listed below are three very important reasons why Thorner and Hasty, along with many Americans, have chosen to support Donald J. Trump for president:

  1. National Security/Defense.
  2. Islamic terrorism and expansion of Caliphate.
  3. Economy/Jobs/Debt.

The greatest danger to national security is our porous borders. The Democrats and establishment Republicans wish to maintain open borders and allow illegal aliens to invade us and take jobs from American workers. For the Democrats it means giving citizenship to illegal aliens that, in turn, will vote Democrat, since they come from socialized societies and are attracted to our welfare benefits. The more “illegal immigrants” our nation allows to enter illegally from south of the border, the greater the chance is for the Democratic Party to become all powerful, thereby capturing a stranglehold on winning elections.

Why do Republicans seemingly not care?  Because establishment Republicans are satisfied as long as they can remain in office and the RNC continues to receive donations from large corporations that lobby for open borders.  For the Democrats it is about votes; for the Republicans it is all about cheap labor for their donors.  It’s a win-win situation for both Parties, but a losing situation for the American people.  Americans will not only continue to lose jobs, but wages will also suffer, even while taxes increase.  And if another Democrats succeeds Obama in the November elections, it would mean the end of the second amendment; more regulations for small businesses; Obamacare would remain; abortion money would increase the practice; police departments would go under Federal Government; and there would be a loss of freedoms, including the first amendment and loss of sovereignty.  This election is certainly about survival!

Immigration, as we have today, not only hurts our economy, but changes our culture. Demographics determine our future, whether we maintain our sovereignty, our constitutional principles, our freedom, our language, and our Judeo/Christian values. Not only are we in danger from invasion by illegal workers, but also from criminals, drug traffickers, and terrorist Islamists. Only Donald Trump has spoken out in opposition to allowing more Muslim “refugees.” We should learn a lesson from seeing what is happening to our European friends.

Strong Defense and Economy and Debt

Also impressive about Trump, while Trump promises us a very strong defense, he clearly is against going to war unless it is in our country’s interest. His solution on ISIS is more about cutting their money supply by bombing the oil fields than having boots on the ground. It is about time that the Arab Nations fight their own wars. With Donald Trump as President, there is no way Muslim groups can organize to bring on Sharia law to our court system or even dream of expanding their caliphate.

Regarding our economy and debt, Donald Trump is the only candidate who has both the educational and business experience background to impact our economy in a positive way. Not only does he know how to create jobs, but also how to cut expenses and regulations. A great example is how he is financing his campaign: he has spent the least of the top candidates and has maintained the lead for over six straight months. Spending his own money is also a great benefit to us because he will not owe special interests any favors.

As for the clamor by the Republican Party to maintain “free trade,” it has not produced the expected results. Why should a candidate have to support the current form of free trade to be accepted as a conservative? We need to do away with labels, whether it is about Party or Liberal VS Conservative, and begin to think in terms of what is best for our Country.  For years we have suffered large trade imbalances with several countries, particularly China. The American people are tired of buying only “made in China” products that are of poor quality. We need to bring back American manufacturing. Donald Trump has excelled in negotiation of business deals. He can do the same with our trade policies.

Trump well received by Pat Robertson at Regent University

For those who are concerned about the next Supreme Judge appointment to replace Scala, on Wednesday, February 24th  Donald Trump had this to say in an interview with Dr. Pat Robertson at Regent University in front of a packed theater with an overflow room on Wednesday, February 24.  During the interview, Trump also vowed to get rid of Common Core and Obama Care and to repeal Obama’s executive orders.  View here Donald Trump at Regent University with Pat Robertson in Virginia Beach, VA – Feb. 24, 2016.

  • Robertson asked Trump:  “In your selection as president, what criteria would you use to pick somebody?”
  • Trump replied:  “Pro-life. We want– It starts with that, starts with it. A very conservative, a very, very smart, I mean like Judge (Antonin) Scalia would be a perfect He was a perfect representative,”
  • Trump further explained:  “I’ve always said that Justice (Clarence) Thomas doesn’t get enough credit. He is a wonderful man, a wonderful guy (applause) and I’ve always said Judge (Samuel) Alito is a terrific guy. So, in that realm is what we’re talking about for me.”  Trump also spoke about getting rid of Common Core, Obama Care, and repealing Obama’s executive orders.

Electablity positive

And what about electability?  It is the consensus of many in the Republican Party and the establishment that Trump could never be elected. They had best reevaluate their thinking.  An article by Matthew Continetti, “Seven Reasons Democrats Should Be Terrified of Donald Trump”, must be read and taken seriously by all who still look upon Cruz as being a clown and a Democrat in sheep’s clothing.

And consider the claim of political science professor Helmut Norpoth of Stony Brook University. His statistical model, which has correctly predicted the results of every election in the last 104 years, is now forecasting that the odds of Donald Trump becoming America’s next president currently range from 97 percent to 99 percent. Specifically, Norpoth predicts that Trump has a 97 percent chance of beating Hillary Clinton and a 99 percent chance of beating Bernie Sanders, assuming Trump actually becomes the 2016 presidential nominee of the Republican Party.

Lastly, Trump is the only candidate who has what it takes to do what is needed, that is, an alpha male!  Someone who won’t back down and can take the pressure and complaints that will pile on him from both Parties establishments, lobbyists, consultants, all DC bureaucracy. Moreover, Trump is getting support from Blacks and Hispanics, besides Reagan Democrats.

God bless America and may He guide us during this important Election Year.

Thorner/Hasty: Why conservatives and Christians can support Trump
