At this year’s Gateway Eagle Council in St Louis, alongside longtime patriots such as General Michael Flynn, conservative Ralph Reed and economist Stephen Moore, a new generation of notable conservatives was also recognized, including controversial videographer James O’Keefe and Turning Points USA’s Charlie Kirk.

O’Keefe and Kirk are making headlines and changing the nation’s perspective on conservatism. The two shared their experiences and insight into the political and cultural battles that lie ahead.

James O’Keefe, Project Veritas – Truth in the Digital Age

James O’Keefe teased about his soon to be released Project Veritas “Deep State Unmasked” investigation. He spoke about his in-depth undercover investigative effort in pursuit of DC’s Deep State, through interviewing and exposing members of the US. government that do not feel bound by the 2016 election results. As O’Keefe said, “Such individuals have no use for the will of the people. They continue to pursue their own personal, political and ideological agendas, as a self-styled “resistance” seeking to bring down the Trump presidency from within.”

Watch here James O’Keefe’s remarks made at Phyllis Schlafly’s Gateway Eagle Council XLVII. O’Keefe’s project covered a time period of six months. As O’Keefe, recounted: “We will put a face to the name of the people who had to be secretly recorded outside their federal buildings. We will be attacked by the media as unethically recording people without their permission. Undercover reporting is not unethical; however, the media believes privacy belongs to the government and therefore protects those in government who exhibit political views and actions the media agrees with.”

As O’Keefe said: “Some federal workers might even lose their jobs.” It was announced on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, that the US Department of Justice would look into alleged “misuse of government resources to advance personal interests”, in response to a video from James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas purporting to expose Deep State federal employees. Only time will tell whether the videos will lead to serious investigative work on behalf of the government.

James O’Keefe has lived up to his promise. Less than a week after O’Keefe teased attendees at Eagle Council to watch for his release of Project Veritas videos outing Deep State individuals, as of Friday, September 21, there have been three released.

The first video in the series, released Tuesday, September 18, showed career civil servant Stuart Karaffa of the State Department boasting of working for the Democratic Socialists of America while he’s being paid by taxpayers. He explained his task is: “Resist everything. … Every level.”

In the second, two “Deep State” radicals confessed, “There’s a lot of talk about how we can like, resist from inside.”

In the third video, comments by Natarajan Subramanian, a Government Accountability Office worker and self-described communist, were captured by O’Keefe’s reporter. Natarajan said: “If you’re in [an] executive branch agency you can slow-ball things to a degree, that it’s like ineffective, and maybe you get in trouble, or maybe you get fired or resign or whatever, but you slowed [Trump’s agenda] down for a certain period of time.”

Candace Owens of Turning was scheduled to appear at Eagle Council, but she was unable to keep her commitment. Most of you have often seen and heard Charlie Kirk speaks often on TV. Having had his desire to enter the U.S. Military Academy at West Point rejected, Kirk decided to delay college by six months. During this period, he started something from nothing at age 18. At age 24, Kirk saw his organization grow to over 1,000 chapters on college campuses. Only in America is this possible!

Charlie to the Gateway Eagle Council audience of being invested in a cultural war and how politics is downstream from the cultural war. Students are told America is racist, because land was stolen from the Indians to benefit the white ruling class. In visiting college campuses, students aren’t always opposed to what Charlie has to say, he told the attendees.

In many cases, students haven’t been exposed to the idea that America is a great country but were instead taught to express anger at their country. According to Charlie, when students are asked if they are proud to be American, only 18% respond positively, whereby the number was 54% when Obama was president. While liberals in the past used to listen and then politely declare their right to disagree, this no longer exists. A person must think a certain way because of their skin color. That a black person could ever be a conservative is perceived as a racial statement. As such liberals succeed in controlling people by dividing them into groups.

Charlie Kirk spoke of President Trump as the first president who is being attacked for doing what he promised to do, such as dealing with China’s trade imbalance, moving our embassy to Israel, and more funding for ICE.

In visiting college campuses, Kirk emphasizes the following:

America is the greatest country in the history of the world. It’s a safer and better place because of a strong America.
Our Constitution is the greatest political document ever written. It tells government what it cannot do for us.
The Free Market system has made this nation thrive and prosper.

Kirk spoke about the great divide that exists on colleges campuses: those thankful to live in America and those who are angry about America. Colleges are teaching a generation of students how to be angry. Many students at Harvard, Yale, and Berkley find nothing good about America. As far as victimhood, the Left loves victims. If you wear the badge of victimhood, you never run out of people to blame for your failure. It becomes a badge of honor, he said.

Kirk also spoke about the rise of atheism on college campuses. The Communist Manifesto is the most read book, he said. Many students tell Kirk they don’t believe in God, but, as Kirk said, “Without God, there would be no atheists.”

Kirk concluded with this statement: “The Left has taken over the public schools through the college level; if the Left get back its power, it will likewise go after home schooling.”

At that night’s dinner named for Major General John K. (Jack) Singlaub, Charlie was presented an Eagle Award by John Hoft of Gateway Pundit and Ed Martin, President of Eagle Forum.

The Gateway Eagle Council event was held in what the Marriott St. Louis Airport Hotel refers to as the “Grand Pavilion”, but Eagle Council referred to it as the “Presidential Pavilion” because of the many presidential hopefuls it hosted there in 2015.

Jim Hoft, Gateway Pundit, one of the most influential conservative websites in US politics, joined Eagle Council XLVII, founded by Phyllis Schlafly in 1972, for this leading mid-America conservative conference. On Monday, September 17, 2008, the day after I returned home from attending Phyllis Schlafly’s Gateway Eagle Council XLVII, after having just met and spoken with General Flynn and his family, I heard the news that Robert Mueller was ready to sentence Flynn on or around November 28, 2018. Flynn resigned — after 24 days as Trump’s national security adviser — when it was revealed he misled the FBI and Vice President Mike Pence about the nature and content of the communications he had with the Russian ambassador at the time, Sergey Kislyak in December 2016 during Trump’s presidential transition.

Despite the trials General Flynn is enduring via Special Counsel Robert Mueller, he was on hand in St. Louis last weekend, calling on conservatives at the Gateway Eagle Council to stand together as “champions of freedom.”

What is Eagle Council?

Eagle Council was started by conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly in 1968. It has become the place to be to equip yourself to speak out on the issue you care about most. This year’s Council tackled top issues of the day, attracted nationally known speakers, provided practical training, held in-depth workshops featuring expert panels and gave like-minded individuals a chance to network nationally.

This year’s Phyllis Schlafly’s 47th Gateway Eagle Council was held September 14-15-16, 2018 at the Marriott St. Louis Airport, Saint Louis, Missouri. Jim Hoff, the Gateway Pundit, partnered this year with Eagle Council. Although ANTIFA showed up to protest outside of the Council event, two who paid to get inside the event to shout were quickly removed by security. Over 600 attendees joined Gateway Eagle Council XLVII over its three-day event.

Introduction to Lieutenant General Michael Flynn

The Major General John K. (Jack) Songlaub Dinner was the theme for the first night of Council on September 16. During the dinner Lieutenant General Michael Flynn was presented with the Major General John K. (Jack) Singlaub Award for Service to America. Major General John K. Singlaub, U.S. Army (Ret.), enjoyed a long and distinguished military career, dating back to World War II. After being recruited by the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), he parachuted into Nazi-occupied France as a covert operative to prepare the French Resistance fighters for the D-Day invasion. Following the war, General Singlaub headed CIA operations in Manchuria during the Chinese Communist revolution, served as supreme commander of all U.S. troops in South Korea, and performed intelligence missions in Vietnam.

Flynn served in the US. for 33 years under multiple administration, beginning in 1981. He was director of intelligence for Joint Special Operations command during operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Later, he served as director of intelligence of the United States Central Command and of the Joint Staff. In 2012 President Obama appointed Flynn as director of the Defense Intelligence Agency for two years before he retired to private life.

General Flynn as Trump’s National Security Advisor

Under Trump, Flynn briefly served as National Security Advisor of the United States. Flynn resigned, after 24 days as Trump’s national security adviser, when it was revealed he misled the FBI and Vice President Mike Pence about the nature and content of the communications he had with the Russian ambassador at the time, Sergey Kislyak in December 2016 during Trump’s presidential transition.

The quote by General Flynn in his book, The Field of Fight, is one of many reasons Flynn is a threat to the massive intel community and was targeted for removal from the Trump administration by Mueller and the traitorous partisan ilk within the FBI.

As the Trump’s National Security Adviser (NSA), Flynn’s legal phone conversations with Russian Ambassador Sergei Kislyak were taped and leaked to media. Those conversations were perfectly legal. As the NSA, it was entirely reasonable that he discussed policy with representatives of other governments — and Flynn was getting calls from all around the world. These calls were made one month prior to Trump’s inauguration. The people who recorded these conversations and leaked them to the press should be the ones up for federal charges.

While Flynn did not deny the Kislyak conversation, which was entirely legal, he denied discussing sanctions with the Russians. Mueller charged him with lying or misleading federal investigators under 18 U.S.C. 1001. He did so even though investigators working under former FBI Director James Comey reportedly had concluded that Flynn did not intend to lie and should not be charged criminally for the omission. Flynn’s lawyer made a deal to plea to a lie, even though Flynn was guilty of anything, to relieve Flynn from the continual stress and financial pressure he was experiencing.

Remarks by Lieutenant General Michael Flynn at Major Singlaub Dinner

“I want to make sure I am very precise, because I know there are a lot of people in the back row that will pay attention to what I say, and I want to make sure they get the words that I say right. I really believe in the things I am going to say, and like I said I spoke to General Singlaub this week about serving America, and what it means to both of us. And I want to share some of our thoughts with all of you tonight.

“Service to America requires us today and tomorrow to stand together as champions for freedom, and soldiers of liberty, who are on the right side of history. Anything less cannot be tolerated if our country is to survive. For many of us, across our nation, we understand that this is not the first time that patriots have risen to this fight that we’re in today. More than 200 years ago, more than 250 years ago, Patrick Henry, a great patriot, who understood service to America, he warned his fellow countrymen that his choice against Great Britain’s suppression of freedoms was crystal clear as mine is tonight. As he described whether to accept slavery to a monarch or freedom, seems like an easy choice.

“Almighty God, he said, I know not what course others may take, but as for me, give me liberty or give me death. What an amazing thing to say at a time for the birth of our country.

“Another great servant, Abraham Lincoln, fought for his vision to unite the North and the South as a new birth of freedom, so that all people would be treated equally, without regard for color or race. In his very famous Gettysburg Address in 1863, at the dedication of the Soldiers National Cemetery to honor Union soldiers who had died in the Civil War, Abraham Lincoln inspired our nation to fight on so that these dead shall not have died in vain and that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom, and that government of the people, by the people, by you, shall not perish from the Earth.

“Nearly, just slightly over 100 years later, in his 1964 speech at the Republican National convention, another great American servant and subsequently president of the United States, Ronald Reagan, redefined the very essence of why the fight by Americans against tyranny and injustice will never end. Must never end. Reagan said, ‘freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.’ We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream, it must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.’

“This time, our time, our America, the urgency to act is that at the doorstep of our democracy. The future of this country depends on each one of you in this room tonight, and many, many others that you represent around our great country. This turning point is about the heart and soul of the United States of America. You cannot and must not be silent or take for granted that our great nation will not fall to the many threats that we face around the world, and some right here at home.

“It is time, it is absolutely time, this weekend, tonight, never a better time, but it is time to buckle down, and listen up, and stand ready to fight for our way of life and our traditions. Those who oppose our fundamental principles could take us down in the snap of a finger. In my book, the Field of Fight, I stated, on page 111, ‘We should not fear the Judea-Christian principles that our nation was founded upon. We should not be in fear of that. We should cherish that, we should believe in that, we should be incredibly proud of that. I will always believe that. To those in the room this evening, who have served in our military, or served as first responders, you represent our warriors around the world, and across our country. And you all know what your respective battlefields look like. They are not pretty, and they are not perfect. Definitely. We fight or serve America not because –this is super important– we fight and serve America not because we hate our enemies, it is because we love our country. We absolutely love the freedoms that we cherish. When we talk about why we fight… It is always about the buddy next to him, the person on your right or left. Deep down inside it is about the way we want to live, and the way we must continue to fight to continue to live for. Super important.

“Our fight for individual freedom and liberty, as I described a little while ago, will also not be pretty or perfect. We will be measured harshly, trust me, and our enemies will try to destroy us. But we cannot fail. There are moments in history that are seminal and then there are other moments that are monumental.

“Maj. Gen. Jack Singlaub was present at all of these during most of the last century, I mean like I said, the guy is 97 years old. I would not want to meet him in a bar fight tonight, he is a pretty incredible human being, and thank God our country has people like him.”

Concluding thought

Does Lieutenant General Michael Flynn like sound like one who would be disloyal to his country?

What has happened to Lt. General Michael Flynn since he left the Trump administration is an American tragedy. A pardon should be forthcoming from President Trump.

As children head back to school for the 2018-2019 school year, it’s up to us to make sure they’re educated, not indoctrinated, for the fastest way to destroy our country is through our children. Not enough Americans recognize how the Left uses the classroom as a pulpit to preach its own ideology and beliefs as part of its bigger scheme to wipe out conservatives and fundamentally transform America. The Left is succeeding by going after us with bans and censorship, while continuing to manipulate our children with their radical propaganda.

Nobody quite knows where the line should be from free and protected speech to that deserving of censor. The issue is an emerging one, as those once outside traditional boundaries are now demanding equality. Of concern is where society will draw the line between what is acceptable and what is not, especially as it applies to what our children are being taught K-12 through the college. What we do know is the line seems more flexible today than ever before. Are there no longer any absolutes?

Fight for Free Speech

The fight for free speech isn’t just about you or me. It’s about our children and our grandchildren. It’s about our country’s future. Increasingly, public schools are under pressure to facilitate LGBTQ indoctrination. (He) she is a girl now. (She) is a girl now. They are a girl now. What if parents are against this indoctrination of their children? What about free speech in pushing back the Left’s monopoly of our educational system?

The agenda’s emphasis on mandating the “proper” use of its prescribed “gender pronouns” are reportedly a major component creating its new social order, which begins in the schools. Forcing children to use words and pronouns that do not correspond to their biological sex, but of their choosing, destabilizes thought because it totally undermines the entire structure of our language.

Organizations championing LGBTQ in K-12 education

GLSEN, has been championing LGBTQ issues in K-12 education since 1990. It sponsors gay-straight alliance clubs in schools, along with the influential Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the world’s largest gay lobbying group, which has successfully convinced state legislatures, state and local school boards, textbook publishers and big teachers’ unions that their agenda is on the right side of history

The Human Rights Campaign will be a factor in the November election. It’s spending millions on volunteer engagements and other work in six states in support of Democrat candidates ahead of the November midterm elections: Nevada, Arizona, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Its aim is to turn out 10 million LGBTQ voters and millions of their supporters.

“Welcoming Schools,” produced by HRC for elementary schools, aims to produce LGBTQ-friendly and “gender inclusive” schools by training elementary educators in its curriculum. According to HRC, the program is being used in schools in Oakland and Berkeley, CA; Madison, WI; Houston; Plantation, Fl., among others. What “Welcoming” Schools offers can be viewed by going to this site. Examples are given of LGBTQ-friendly policies and practices schools should implement to fully welcome and affirm all students and families.

A Chicago based organization, the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) is the world’s leading organization advancing one of the most important fields in education in decades: the practice of promoting integrated academic, social, and emotional learning for all children in preschool through high school CASEL uses various materials and processes to indoctrinate children into its mode of thinking. Activists say it is because [transgender indoctrination] is the only way children will acquire ‘life-skills’. Children, who are bound to become ‘self-directed,’ are ‘crying out’ for this, noting that data show that approximately 40 percent are ‘chronically disengaged’ in school. CASEL’s curriculum is being implemented in certain places in the U.S., especially in urban areas.

Stella Morabito, senior contributor to The Federalist, speaking at The Family Research Council on Feb. 6, 2018, warned that schools are starting to embrace a propaganda operation designed to squash thought and demand allegiance to political correctness and gender ideology. During her speech, Morabito revealed both the content and processes of a group called CASEL.

“Social and emotional learning is becoming all the rage in public education and if left unchecked it will result in a monolithic, nationalized mandate demanding conformity to the politically correct dogma of the day. In other words, it is a massive state-sponsored propaganda operation intended to isolate and control people, including kids, about how to feel and relate to people.”

2018 Sex-ed Curriculum forays into Virginia, CA, Texas, and PA

Just outside Washington, D.C. in Fairfax County, VA. public schools are on the leading edge of a strategic and well-funded push to indoctrinate students in the thinking of the 21st century’s sex and gender revolution. All issues regarding LGBTQ and gender-bending are welcome and encouraged.

For more than a year in San Diego, parents fought a sex-ed curriculum deemed “pornographic” and “misogynistic” by some, but praised by the state of CA as conforming to recommendations in it, Healthy Youth Act passed in 2015. Expressed anger and frustration over a sex-ed curriculum they allege is completely inappropriate for their young children, resulted in San Diego parents initially pulling their kids from school and rallying outside the district’s headquarters in May of this year. San Diego Unified School District first maintained that parents were getting upset over material that should in fact be taught to young students, but later allowed San Diego parents to opt their child out of the sex-ed curriculum program. No substitute curriculum was provided.

Fort Worth schools have also been in a state of unrest after a sex-ed lesson for sixth-graders entailed gender transitions and sexual fluidity. After parents alleged the district was avoiding showing parents the material, per state law, the state attorney general in June requested a copy of the material for his overview, warning the district of state law requiring parental access.

After four months, Emmaus High School in Emmaus, Penn. finally released links to four videos it showed to students this past spring, after a Christian law firm intervened to defend the rights of parents to know what the public school is showing their children. The school defended the videos as anti-bullying, but they promoted a one-sided agenda. The school had refused to make the videos public, arguing they were students’ private work. The four videos briefly addressed bullying, but they mostly focused on presenting homosexuality and transgenderism as objects of pride. The first video, “Show your Pride. Share your love. #ProudToLove,” started with a montage of teens “coming out” to their parents, leading into many images of people of the same-sex kissing, and even featuring former President Barack Obama celebrating Pride Month.

“Drag Queen Story Time” in our Libraries and Schools

One of the more outrageous efforts by Leftists and the homosexual community today is a program aimed at our children to embrace a multi-gender philosophy. This can be realized in “Drag Queen Story Time.” This outrageous program has unfortunately emerged nationwide. Men dress in full female regalia, loaded with makeup and then they read stories to little pre-school and kindergarten-age children about how being a homosexual is “fun,” claim that it is a way to “express your individuality,” and that there is “no such thing as “boy” things and “girl” things. “Children,” they say, “should feel free and open to choose whichever gender they would like.” They go so far as to say it is acceptable if they would like to be a boy one day and a girl the next. Sadly, they are feeding this to gullible four and five-year-old children, often without the full knowledge of their parents.

Drag Queen Story Hour events are not only happening in libraries, but also in schools. As reported on August 3, 2018, K-12 schools are bringing drag queens into the classroom to teach gender ideology. Where is the public outrage? Why have our leading media sources failed to expose the extent of homosexual extremism, which is not to be confused with appropriate information. Most grievous is the efforts to destroy anyone who dares oppose their lifestyle? The public deserves to know the extent schools and specific media programming contribute to, not just accepting homosexuals, but in promoting the homosexual lifestyle.

Curriculum bills pending in Illinois to homosexuality and biological-sex rejection

As addressed by Laurie Higgins of the Illinois Family Institute:

“The noxious Leftist Inclusive Curriculum bill (SB 3249 and HB 5596) created by two Chicago-based homosexual/”trans” activist organizations (i.e., Equality Illinois and the Illinois Safe Schools Alliance) is moving through the Illinois Senate. The central goal of this costly and ideologically driven mandate that robs schools of local control is to use curricula in government schools to transform the way children think and feel about homosexuality and biological-sex rejection (aka as “transgenderism”).

If passed, this indoctrination bill will require that any “book or book substitute that will be used as a text or text substitute” in grades K-12 include the “role and contributions” of homosexuals and of men and women who adopt opposite-sex personas (also known deceptively as “transgender”

Why the left is winning

The LGBTQ agenda has been having its way in America’s schools and throughout society beyond the school gates

According to Stella Morabito, senior contributor to The Federalist:

“American conservatives are by and large clueless about propaganda methods and tactics. And it shows. There are virtually no conservative social psychologists around. You’d think once a liberal social psychologist hits the public over the head with this fact some on the Right would take notice and at least try to get clued in.

Meanwhile, the Left has been employing social psychology and depth psychology on the masses for decades. President Obama’s campaign staff was filled with social psychologists. In this context, those who believe conservatives can subsist on reason and logic alone are kidding themselves. It’s no wonder GOP leaders are caving on so many principles and being absorbed so easily into the Left’s machine.”

It is up to parents to know what their children are learning in their school’s sex education classes and to speak up in front of their school boards if the material is found inappropriate for their child.

Thorner: Feed My Starving Children turns hunger into hope

Getting together as a group and setting aside time and energy to do something for others in need is inspiring. That’s what I found when my home church – Lakeview Presbyterian Church PC in Mundelein – organized a . group of volunteers to assist the local Christian non-profit organization, Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) in Libertyville.

Signing in 15 minutes early with my church group as instructions to do on Thursday afternoon, August 16, 2018, for our scheduled volunteer time of 2:30 – 4:30 pm, hair nets were handed out as a sanitary measure for packing food (white latex gloves also had to be worn by all food handlers), after which we were directed to take seats in the auditorium to a wait orientation. Two short film were shown, one to acquaint volunteers with the FMSC program, and the second to instruct volunteers how each work station was set up for packing food.

It was sobering to learn that 1 in 9 children go hungry every day and that 6,200 children die each day because of malnutrition and hunger-related diseases. I was amazed to learn that each meal costs less than a quarter to make, and that FMSC devotes more than 90% of total donations directly to feeding kids. FMSC receives no government aid.

The Libertyville, Illinois site is one of 8 permanent packing sites in the US that works to feed hungry and malnourished kids around the world, so they can go to school and are able to learn. In 2017, more than 333 million meals were packed with the help of over 1.2 million volunteers and then distributed to nearly 70 countries around the world. Over 779,000 children were fed daily. This year’s goal of Feed My Starving Children is to produce 365 million meals, 30 million more than last year.

In addition to the Libertyville Packing site for volunteering here in IL, there are two more sites in Schaumburg and Aurora. There are also two packing sites in MN (Coon Rapids, Chanhassen, and Eagan), one in Mesa, Arizona, and mobile pack sites nationwide. Each year volunteers from families, churches, businesses, and civic group hand-pack meals working as teams in two hour shifts to fill and seal bags in assembly line fashion. I can attest to the fun atmosphere that exists and the satisfaction that comes from helping to transform the futures of children, families, communities and nations.

Founded in 1987, FMSC is the original and largest supplier of nutritionally complete, packaged dry meals, as an independent organization not associated with the UN. The all-vegetarian MannaPack used by FMSC was developed by food scientists to quickly reverse and prevent malnutrition so children can grow and thrive. Each MannaPack contains 20 vitamins and minerals that are added to dried vegetables, soy protein, and rice (the last ingredient) before being sealed and placed in boxes to ready for shipment. Each bag must weigh between 380 and 400 grams. Rice is either added or taken out of each MannaPack so the weight requirement is met.

MannaPack ingredients are produced here in the U.S. and paid for by donations: Rice comes from Louisiana; soy, Illinois; New Jersey, veggies, and vitamins, MN. Volunteers work two-hour shifts in teams at work stations that are set up with all that is needed to make and seal MannaPacks. I was amazed to learn that each meal costs less than a quarter to make and that FMSC devotes more than 90 of total donations directly to feeding kids. FMSC receives no government aid.

At the finish of our 2-hour shift, the day was not yet over at the Libertyville site. The packing schedule for each FMSC packing site offers five two-hour time slots Tuesday through Saturday and two on a Monday for volunteers to sign up for. We were to learn that the food packed during the Lakeview Presbyterian Church PC two-hour shift was destined for Nicaragua. When all the food going to Nicaragua assembled and ready to be shipped, the recipient of the food will be On Eagles Wings Ministry in Arizona, a partner organization, who has assumed the cost of shipping the packed food containers filled with MannaPacks to Nicaragua.

Having traveled to several of the countries where FMSC meals are being sent, I have seen and bought some of the craft items that are indigenous to the countries. As such I was amazed at the quality of the handmade goods purchased from hardworking artisans in communities receiving FMSC meals. Each packing site has a gift shop where handicraft items are sold. They are also for sale at Mobile Pack event and online at this site.

Thinking ahead to Christmas, I couldn’t resist buying numerous items such as beaded bracelets and necklaces from Kenya; lawn ornaments from Haiti made from oil drums, decorative plant ornaments, and colorful mugs fashioned from clay; grass woven purses from Uganda; and a pine needle basket from Nicaragua and a hand sewn scarf. Every item has a tag telling where it was made, who the artisan was, and the number of meals the purchase of an item provides.

Feed the Hungry Children receives no help from government and depends on donations to operation. You can help children who would otherwise die of malnutrition and hunger-related diseases by contributing at this site.

Also consider volunteering as an individual or as part of a group effort by a church or business. All will be enriched by helping to turn hunger into hope with your own two hands.
